Place gently used items labeled "FREE" at the curb from 7 AM - 5 PM:

♻️ What Goes Where?

🟢 Green Bin (Organics)

Accepts: All food waste, paper towels, tissues, pet waste, diapers

Tip: Line with certified compostable bags only - no plastic bags!

🔵 Blue Box (Recycling)

Accepts: Paper, cardboard, plastic containers, metal cans, glass bottles

Tip: Flatten cardboard boxes • No black plastic • No plastic bags • Empty and rinse containers

⚫ Garbage

Remember: 2 bag limit • Use garbage tags for up to 3 extra bags (5 total)

Never in garbage: Batteries (fire hazard!), hazardous waste, electronics, yard waste

Take these items to York Region Waste Depots:

  • 🔋 Batteries (important - can cause fires in garbage trucks!)
  • 🎨 Paint, chemicals, cleaning products
  • 💊 Pharmaceuticals and medications
  • 💡 Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
  • 📺 Electronics (TVs, computers, printers)
  • 🔌 Cables, chargers, small appliances
